HOW EARLY DO I NEED TO MAKE MY RESERVATION?
Reservations depend on the tourist season. We recommend that you make reservations as early as possible, especially for reservations between the months of December through March. During the high season, reservations are typically made at least three months in advance. During the low season between the months of April through November, we recommend booking at least one month out. See more on our Rates & Reservations or Book Now.

Vegetarian meals are available upon request and we will always try to accommodate your dietary needs. We serve plenty of fresh fruit at all meals along with our delicious homemade bread. We offer continental and a la carte breakfast options, healthy lunches, an afternoon snack and 4 course dinners. All meals are included with lodging. Drinks are not included in the packages.
Water
Due to our fragile ecosystem, we are dedicated to minimizing plastic waste, so please bring a refillable water bottle to use throughout your trip. We have a reverse osmosis purification water system together with UV light to ensure that our guests have the purest water.
PHONE/INTERNET
To maximize your experience in our tropical paradise, we do not have phones or wifi in the rooms. If you're loved ones want to contact you, we can pass along messages through our office in San Jose. Internet is available from the clubhouse at the lodge but keep in mind that due to our remote location, it is not always reliable.
Air Conditioning
We are fortunate to be graced with the prevailing westerly winds, cooling the lodge and allowing for ideal sleeping conditions. All of our rooms and ranchos come with ceiling fans and A/C units but we find many of our guests still prefer to fall asleep with the windows open, listening the sounds of the ocean.
What to do
La Paloma is located on a cliff overlooking the Pacific Ocean. We are a short walk from secluded beaches, tropical rainforest and Agujitas River. Relax in your hammock, read a book poolside, explore our grounds or check out one of the many activities available.
Swimming Pool
Our 10-meter swimming pool is the perfect way to cool off after a long hike or spend time relaxing and watching the sunset.
Massages
Pamper yourself with a relaxing massage in the comfort of your room. Our certified massage therapists offer Deep Tissue and Swedish massages. Choose from 60 min massages.
TIPPING
Tipping is a common practice in the tourism industry; it is not expected, but of course appreciated. If you choose to tip we recommend you do it at the end of your trip to the lodge. We have a tip pool that we divide up at the end of each month that includes all of our staff (with the exception of our guides). If there is a naturalist guide you wish to tip you can have this gratuity applied to your final bill at check out or give it directly to him after the tour. This amount can be put on your credit card or given in cash to the manager specifying who the tip is for (staff or guide). If you choose to tip we recommend a $15-$20 staff gratuity per day for each traveler. As for a guide's gratuity we recommend $15-$20 per excursion for each traveler.
